#WhyIWrite: TA students celebrate the National Day of Writing

To recognize the National Day on Writing, English classes at Thornton Academy celebrated the power of the written word through presentations by published authors and an activity designed to show how individual voice can empower and unite people.  The National Day on Writing is sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

Nervous about the PSAT? Tips on how to ace this exam!

On Wednesday Oct. 11th, students in the ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades will take the College Board’s PSAT exam. PSAT scores can be used by high schools to help asses student progress in a number of academic areas, most broadly math, critical reading, and writing. Additionally, PSAT scores provide students and their families with the data necessary to prepare for success on the SAT exam.

Meet the staff: Corey Bryant, Upper School Science

The newest member of the Science Department at Thornton Academy, Corey Bryant, brings passion and a desire to bring relevant and engaging curriculum to his students.  For the 2017-18 school year, he is teaching Biology II in the fall semester and will be teaching Physics II in the Spring Semester.  Mr. Bryant is also active with the Astronomy Club.
