Chandler Bilodeau, son of Ron and Sonia of Arundel, participated in varsity golf, varsity hockey, varsity lacrosse, and National Honor Society. He earned the following awards: George Eastman Young Leaders Award, National Academy of Future Scientist and Technologists Award, First Team All-State Hockey, and was a Travis Roy Award Semifinalist. Chandler will be taking a gap year to play junior hockey.
Noelle Boudreau, daughter of Frederick Boudreau of Saco, participated in indoor track, outdoor track, and soccer. She received the following awards: Top 10%, Honor roll (first honors), and academic excellence/achievements in many classes. Noelle will attend the University of Tampa majoring in Allied Health on a pre-physician assistant track
Dawson Buchanan, son of Larry and Patsy Buchanan of San Antonio, Texas, participated in indoor and outdoor track, concert band for two years, jazz band for two years, National Honor Society, Interact Club, and Astronomy Club. He received first honors through his time at Thornton Academy and received other awards including excellence in mathematics and sciences. Dawson will be Attending UNH under a Mechanical Engineering Major and AFROTC.
Logan Casey, son of Craig and Kristine Casey of Saco, participated in Orchestra, Chamber Singers, TA Players, German, Model United Nations, Political Action Team and is in the top 10% of the class. He will be attending Suffolk University to study Business.
Louisa Anne Colucci, daughter of Ruth Colucci of Saco, participated in softball, National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society and is in the top 10% of the class. She will be attending Husson University in the fall.
Elise Autumn Courtney, daughter of Thomas and Deborah Courtney of Saco, participated in Dance Company. She received high honors all four years at Thornton Academy as well as top 10% percent and National Honor Society. She will study biology at the University of Vermont.
Class of 2018 Valedictorian Vincent Sylvain Falardeau, son of Marc and Lisa Falardeau of Saco, participated in Amnesty International, math team, Thornton Academy String Quartet, Orchestra, cross country, National Honor Society, and Academic WorldQuest. Vincent received many awards at Thornton Academy including the Maine Principal's Award and is the class valedictorian. Vincent will attend Middlebury College and plans to study Geography and French.
Braden Foley, son of Kevin and Jane Foley of Dayton, participated in Thornton Academy Drama Club, Thornton Academy Dance Company, Thornton Academy Civil Rights Team, Treasurer of Senior Class in Student Council, member of National Honors Society, and Thornton Academy Chamber Singers. He received the following awards: Certificate of Achievement in Acting I, Certificate of Achievement in Chamber Singers, Certificate of Achievement in Honors U.S. History, Academic Excellence in Honors Spanish III, Academic Excellence in Honors English, Certificate of Achievement in Honors Chemistry, Academic Achievement Award for the top 10% of class, Certificate of Achievement in People and World Cultures/Modern World History, Academic Achievement in Honors Calculus, Responsibility Award, Academic Excellence in Performance & Repertory/Thornton Academy Dance Company, and Student Arts Advocate Certificate of Participation. Braden will be attending Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study Mechanical Engineering.
Eric Conrad Heiman, son of Michelle and Andrew Heiman of Arundel, participated in football, outdoor track, homestay host, German exchange, Interact Club, and National Honor Society. He received the following awards: 2nd team all-conference football, all-academic for football, awards of excellence, and top 10 percent. Eric will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study Mechanical Engineering.
Owen Hey, son of Thomas Klak and Jeanne Hey of Saco, participated in soccer all 4 years; indoor and outdoor track senior year, and National Honor Society. Owen will be attending Rensellaer Polytechnic Institute in the Fall to study mathematics.
QianYu Huo, daughter of Jain-Feng Huo and LiQiu Gao of China, participated in mentoring and was a top 10% recipient. In college she will study psychology.
Caleb Samuel Jacques, son of Melissa Jacques of Saco, participated in Jazz Combo, Interact Club, Chamber Singers, and National Honor Society. He received the following awards: Student of the Month, and was a TA's Got Talent Runner-up. Caleb will attend Colby College to Major in Biology with a concentration in Cell and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry.
Morgan A. Lamarre, daughter of Christina O’Neal and Wayne Lamarre of Saco, participated in Dance Company, TA Players, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Pink Ribbon Club. She received the following awards: Certificate of Excellence in Honors Physical Science, Certificate of Excellence in Honors French 3, Certificate of Achievement AP Calculus AB, and Certificate of Excellence in Performance and Repertory; Dance Company. Morgan will attend George Mason University to study Bioengineering and dance.
Wyatt Irvin LeBlanc, son of Mark and Shannon LeBlanc of Arundel, participated in lacrosse, football, unified basketball, and National Honor Society. He was recognized as the Student of the Month and received the Good Citizenship Award. Wyatt will attend Bentley University and will major in Corporate Finance.
Yawen Liu, daughter of Qiang Liu and Ling Liu of Wuhan, China, participated in tennis all four years, Chinese club, math team, art club, INK, and National Honor Society. She was on the honor roll and was an AMC 10 school winner. Yawen will attend the University of Southern California and study Electrical Engineering.
Jonathan Ma, son of Nagn Fong Lee and David Ma of Saco, participated in tennis, computer club, TATV, and Mary's Walk. He received the following awards: Honors Pre-calculus, Honors Chemistry, Honors Algebra 1 and 2, Honors Chinese 2 and 3, Honors physics certificate of achievement/excellence. Jonathan will attend Northeastern University to major in Computer Science.
Brody Manczak, son of Chet and Kimberly Manczak of Saco, participated in the Thornton Academy Angler Society. He received the following awards: Top 10% and High Honors. Brody plans to attend Wentworth Institute of Technology to major in Mechanical Engineering.
Lauren Mesley, daughter of Brian and Sonja Mesley of Saco, participated in TA Players, speech team, volleyball, editor for Carpe Diem, library aide, dance, and wrote/directed for the student written play night. She received the following awards: honor roll, top 10%, certificates of achievement, certificates of excellence, and placed 2nd in the state for the Noise Prose category in Speech team last year. She plans to attend Sarah Lawrence College in NY to major in Creative Writing.
Abigail Dee Morrill, daughter of Peter and Denise Morrill of Saco, received Top 10% and underclassmen awards. She plans to attend Fairfield University as a Nursing major.
Ethan T. Nadeau, son of Peter and Denise Nadeau of Saco, participated in the Academic WorldQuest Club, Model U.N., National Honor Society, and Mary's Walk. He received the following awards: April 2018 Student of the Month, Top Ten Percent, First Honors, Certificates of Excellence in Chemistry 1/Physics 1, Honors Algebra 2, Honors English, Honors French 1, Modern World History, Honors Pre-Calculus, America's Response to a Changing World, Honors Chemistry, Honors Geometry, Honors English, Honors French 2, AP Human Geography, AP Physics 1, and Honors Biology. He will attend Emory University in Atlanta.
Bao Nguyen, son of Thuy Tuong and Han Nguyen of Hanoi, Vietnam, participated in Math Team, Science and Youth TA, Neuroscience Club, International Fair, Environmental Club, and speech team. He received the following awards: AP Scholar with Distinction, Brain Bee Regional Award, and Top 10 Maine State Math Award (Junior Year). Bao will attend Colgate University to study psychology and education.
Connor Northway, son of Claudia and Ray Northway of Saco, participated in Academic WorldQuest, German Exchange, Interact, and National Honor Society. He received the following awards: Won WorldQuest 2018 State competition, placed 4th in Nationals and he achieved first honors the past 3 years. Connor will attend Northeastern University to study Computer Engineering. He will spend the summer working at the University of New Hampshire's Interoperability Lab.
Alessandra Nucciotti, daughter of Patrizia Davoli and Lorenzo Nucciotti of Quiliano, Italy, participated in Academic World Quest and received the Academic Achievement Award for top 10% of the class. She will attend university in Europe and plans to major in Philosophy.
Sabrina Nucciotti, daughter of Patrizia Davoli and Lorenzo Nucciotti of Quiliano, Italy, participated in Chinese Club, Academic World Quest, and performed community service. She received the Academic Achievement Award for top 10% of the class. She will attend college in Europe.
Alana Pettaway, daughter of Tonya Pettaway and Claude Pettaway of Saco, participated in Orchestra, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Lacrosse, Varsity Soccer, and National Honor Society. She represented Thornton Academy at the SMAA Student Leadership Conference. Alana will attend the University of New Hampshire to study bio-engineering.
Elizabeth Roy, daughter of Robin and Michael Roy of Saco, participated in Action Team, Neuroscience Club, Environmental Club, junior varsity basketball, varsity lacrosse, and the Symphony Orchestra. She received the following awards: Honor Roll, Top 10% and served as an Ambassador for Maine Youth Leadership Conference in 2016. Elizabeth will attend Skidmore College and is double majoring in Neuroscience and Viola Performance.
Maria Seneres, born in the Philippines and daughter of Jennifer and Lodel Seneres, participated in National Honor Society, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, volleyball, and Student Council. She received the following awards: Honor Roll, RIT Award, and other academic achievements. She will attend University of New Hampshire in Durham.
Kayla Strout, daughter of Kevin and Melinda Strout of Saco, participated in Action Team, National Honor Society, and volleyball. She received the following awards: Top 10% of class and First Honors every year. Kayla will attend Simmons College to study Mathematics.
Alexis Taylor, daughter of Jeri-Marie Taylor and Steve Taylor of Saco, participated in Chinese club, INK, and book club. She received the following awards: Certificate of Excellence- Honors Geometry, Honors Calculus, Psychology, Art History & Illustration, Honors Drawing, Honors Freshman English, and Honors Chinese I, II, and III; Certificate of Achievement- Honors Chemistry, Honors Sophomore English, Honors Physical Science, Constitutional Studies; Top 10% of class every year, and the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award. Alexis plans to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst to double-major in Chinese Language and Literature and Linguistics. She would like to study abroad in China while at UMass Amherst.
Cesare Toschi, son of Fulvio Toschi and Isabella Zucchini of Bologna, Italy, was an active member of Residential life community. He plans to return to Italy to pursue postgraduate studies.
Tung Hoang Trinh, son of Ngoc Hoang Minh and Duc Trinh Xuan of Vietnam, participated in chess club and the math team. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota.
Arianna True, daughter of Tracie True and Ryan True of Saco, participated in Soccer, indoor and outdoor track, mentoring, National Honor Society, and the Interact Club. She received the following awards: Phi Beta Kappa Award, National Honor Society, Honor Roll Awards, Certificate of excellence in Honors geometry and honors pre-calculus, certificates of achievement in honors sophomore English, Spanish 1, Spanish 3, and AP language and composition. Arianna will be attending The University of New Hampshire this fall. She plans to major in biomedical science or neuroscience and behavior on the pre-medical track.
Ashley O’Hare, daughter of Sherry O'Hare and Andrew O'Hare of Saco, participated in dance and chorus. She received the following awards: Top 10%, honor roll, and several academic achievement and excellence awards in her classes. Ashley will be studying English at Regent University in Virginia Beach.
