Thornton Academy welcomed nearly 30 representatives from schools around Maine and Northern New England to campus to meet with four representatives from Apple as a part of Thornton Academy's Apple Distinguished School distinction.
Yawen Liu '18 is a unique student with a perspective of the world unlike most other students her age. Coming to Thornton Academy after attending a top school in China, Yawen, formerly known to many as "Gloria," was looking for an educational experience that fits her desire for a comprehensive education.

Headmaster Rene Menard of Thornton Academy is pleased to announce that Vincent Falardeau '18 has been publicly announced as a Semifinalist in the National Merit® Scholarship Program. Headmaster Menard, Associate Head Marsha Snyder, and School Counselor Kelsey Ramsey presented Vincent with this exciting academic achievement.
Thornton Academy’s 24th annual Senior Alumni Reunion will be held tomorrow, September 16, 2017. Nearly 300 alumni and their guests from the classes of 1936-1966 will attend this special event with their classmates and guests.
Thornton Academy Athletics in the recent past have been decorated with state championship rings, championship finalists, and dozens of playoff spots. Athletes are consistently featured in the press for their achievements and as individuals to “watch”. This week we sat down with Coach Lori Roth Smith ’88 and Taylor Ouellette ’18 to learn more about the inner-workings of Thornton’s Girls Varsity Field Hockey team.

In Kelley Hodgman-Burns' freshly unpacked office, a kinetic sandbox, play dough, and "Pinch Me Dough" in lavender scent are centered on a small round table in an effort to "provide what (she) can to help students feel comfortable and at ease. (Faculty too, for that matter)."
